Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is located in the Bhorgiri village, Khed taluka, near Pune, Maharashtra. It is approx. 125 km from Pune and 240 km from Mumbai.

The Bhimashankar temple is made in the Nagara style of architecture. Like other Shiva temples in this area, the sanctum is at a lower level.

It is located in the Ghat region of Sahyadari hills, and the area is luscious green specially during the raining season. You can find lots of places for trekking, hiking, and rock climbing. It also has a wildlife sanctuary.

Best time to travel is August to March when the raining season is at its decline. As it’s a popular pilgrimage destination, sometimes, it takes 3-4 hours for darshan. So plan your visit accordingly. The best way to get there is to take a cab or drive down yourself as the route is quite scenic.
